"I have four children, so when my third started to fall behind with her school work, I knew there was something wrong. Having battled with schools for a while, it came to ahead when my daughter admitted struggling with reading music.

A friend recommended Kris, having used her to test her daughter for dyslexia. From the first contact I felt at ease with Kris who explained the process for the testing, if full testing would be needed.

Kris came to the house and undertook an initial assessment to see if it was worth having the full test. She visited again, after the initial investigation confirmed that full testing would be worth while. She was really patient with my teenage daughter, who initially was not co-operative, but with encouragement, engaged with the process.

Throughout the process, Kris was polite and informative and gave lots of support on how to progress post diagnostic."

“What a wonderful, considerate and personalised response! Thank you so much Kris. You have indeed answered all my questions.  I should be delighted if you would assess my son and feel instinctively that you will succeed, whatever his reservations, in putting him at his ease upon meeting him.   So much of what you say rings true and hits home - his lack of self-esteem is all too regrettably apparent...”
Prospective client in response to an initial email enquiry, August 2014.

"Kris has a fabulous approach to dealing with dyslexia, the combination of her in-depth knowledge and passion for the subject comes across, making it easy to understand a potentially tricky subject. After listening to a talk she gave at a CAP Thursday Business Club meeting, and hearing about the various conditions and severities I feel I am much more aware of the condition in general.

The day after the talk I had a meeting with a man who appeared very agitated and generally angry with the world simply because he been handed some simple forms which he could not deal with. I was able to recognise his condition, handle the situation with ease, help him as required, and he left the meeting a happier man. Without Kris’s talk the situation had the potential to be very different. Thank you Kris, I feel a better person and I’m sure many others who hear you speak do too."

Following an initial screening and recommendations for a teenager, the parent, Sarah said: “We have found the advice and recommendations really helpful and will be keen to use this support again in the near future.” Her 13 year-old son, George said “I found the session really useful and it has made me more confident to get the right help for my dyslexia”.
S. Mann, parent.

"I was hugely impressed by the service provided by Kris Ventris-Field and cannot recommend her highly enough. (I asked her to assess my 19-year-old son prior to commencing University as my instincts told me he may have minor SEN and would benefit from support whilst at Uni). She has a warm, approachable manner which won my recalcitrant son over immediately. The preliminary discussions, assessments and post-assessment analysis were pertinent, personalised and very thorough whilst the final report and advice provided was detailed and indispensable. Certainly these types of assessments don't come cheap, but I felt that Kris' fee was competitive and was especially thoroughly well-earned!  Many thanks!"
